Grades 7th-12th
Current musicals on Broadway either feature pop stars as lead actors are written by pop singers and superstars, or even feature pop songs from the radio. In this workshop, you will learn how to write and compose an original pop song. Recommended for singers, songwriters, and students who can both sing, play, and write lyrics.

MEDIA RELEASE: Philadelphia Theatre Company (PTC) values the creativity and contributions of all participants in our education programs. PTC occasionally takes photographs, videos, and/or collects quotes from participants for use in promotional materials, including but not limited to brochures, social media, newsletters, and website content. By granting permission below, you authorize PTC to use photographs, video footage, and/or quotes of your child for these purposes. If you do not grant permission, your child will still be able to fully participate in all education programs without any disadvantage.

NOTE: You may update or withdraw your consent at any time by contacting PTC Staff at education@philatheatreco.org.

LIABILITY RELEASE AND EMERGENCY AUTHORIZATION

  1. Assumption of Risk:
    I acknowledge and accept that participation in PTC programs may involve certain risks of injury or harm, which PTC will strive to minimize through appropriate supervision and safety measures. I agree not to hold PTC, its staff, instructors, or contracted employees liable for injuries, damages, or losses except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
  2. Medical Emergency Authorization:

    In the event of a medical emergency during my child’s participation, I authorize PTC staff to act on my behalf. This includes securing medical treatment or ambulance services if deemed necessary. I understand that every effort will be made to contact me or an emergency contact immediately using the information provided at registration.
  3. Disclosure of Health Information:

    I certify that my child is physically and mentally able to participate in PTC activities and that I have disclosed any relevant medical, physical, or behavioral conditions during registration. I understand that failing to disclose such information may impact PTC’s ability to provide a safe environment for my child.
  4. Liability Waiver:

    I release and discharge Philadelphia Theatre Company, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from or in connection with my child’s participation, except as a result of gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

For Afterschool Workshops

All transactions are final. If a workshop is canceled due to inclement weather, teaching artist illness, or other unforeseen circumstances, students will receive a credit to attend a future class of equal or lesser value. This credit is valid for 365 days from the date of the cancellation. In the event of cancellation due to student or family emergency, a refund worth 50% of the workshop fee will be issued if notified within 48 hours of the workshop.
